NEUROSCIENCE OF MEDITATION
RECORDED-LIVE PROGRAM
This RECORDED–LIVE program with Kirby de Lanerolle will take the participants through 4 types of meditations. Each one has its different applications and results. Empirical data will be cited with insight into brain structure and mechanics of each state of mind and the effects of different types of mediation on longevity, immunity, gray matter, and plasticity for the expanding of human potential.
At the end of the program, participants will have a diverse set of meditative tools at their disposal and an understanding of how these practices can lead to tangible changes in their brain and overall well-being.
HOW YOU ACCESS THE RECORDINGS
Once you purchase you get invited to the course in WLWNet (Mighty Network). Use that invitation link to get access. You get to interact with the existing participants and ask questions and talk about experiences in that space.
Session 1: Compassion Meditation for Longevity
Session 2: Stress Reduction and Mindfulness
Exploring the scientific underpinnings of mindfulness meditation and how it physically alters the brain’s structure, specifically areas related to attention and emotion regulation.
Session 3: Breaking Self-Referencing & Decentering with Tohu Wa Bohu
Session 4: Pinwheel Technique for Sensory Information Filtering
Session 1: Compassion Meditation for Longevity
Introduction to Compassion Meditation: We delve into the science of compassion (Metta) meditation, how it enhances positive emotions, leading to personal resources, better health, and increased longevity.
Practical Workshop: Participants are led through a compassion meditation, cultivating feelings of goodwill and compassion towards self and others.
Discussion: We unpack research linking compassion meditation to physical health benefits, focusing on how it influences the vagus nerve, heart rate variability, telomere length, and the immune system.
Homework: Incorporate a daily 20 -minute Loving-Kindness meditation into your routine.
Session 2: Stress Reduction and mindfulness
Introduction to the Science of Mindfulness: We begin by exploring the scientific underpinnings of mindfulness meditation, discussing how it physically alters the brain’s structure, specifically areas related to attention and emotion regulation.
Practical Workshop: Participants are guided through basic mindfulness meditation practices, focusing on breath and body sensations, leading to a state of non-judgmental awareness of the present moment.
Discussion: We examine scientific research linking regular mindfulness practice to reduced stress, with a focus on understanding the associated neuroplastic changes such as an increase in grey matter in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus, and a decrease in the amygdala’s size.
Homework: Engage in a daily 20 -minute mindfulness meditation.
Session 3: Breaking Self-Referencing & Decentering with Tohu Wa Bohu
Introduction to Tohu Va Bohu: This session will introduce the Hebraic concept of Tohu Va Bohu (formlessness and emptiness), which can be applied in meditation to break self-referencing thought patterns supporting the meditation using reverse breathing and microcosmic orbit for decentering and perspective shifting.
Practical Workshop: Guided meditation on Tohu Va Bohu, focusing on the experience of emptiness and formlessness, to break the cycle of self-referencing thoughts.
Discussion: We look at neuroscience research regarding the ‘Default Mode Network’ and its association with self-referencing thoughts, and how Tohu Va Bohu meditation can help quiet this network, leading to an experience of ‘selflessness’. The breathing will also active the insular and shift them away from the prefrontal cortex; causing participants to realize a “bottom up” approach in contrast to “top-down”
Homework: Practice Tohu Va Bohu meditation for 20 minutes daily.
Session 4: Pinwheel Technique for Sensory Information Filtering
Introduction to Pinwheel Technique: We delve into the Pinwheel technique as a method of sensory gating or filtering, enabling greater focus and intention and weaponizing intention.
Practical Workshop: Participants will be guided through a Pinwheel meditation, learning how to channel their focus, thus filtering sensory information and decreasing sensory overload. This mediation strengthens the “will” and causes participants to harness energy and prime the nervous system either to defend, attack, or buffer.
Discussion: Examination of the neuroscience behind the Pinwheel technique, understanding how it enhances the brain’s ability to filter sensory information, reduces distractibility, and cultivates a more focused mind employing the prefrontal cortex and the anterior cingular cortex
Homework: Incorporate daily 20-minute Pinwheel meditation sessions into your routine.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will I access the recordings after purchase?
Once you purchase you get invited to the PRIVATE SPACE dedicated to this course in WLWNet (Mighty Network). Use that invitation link to get access. You get to interact with the existing participants and ask questions and talk about experiences in that space.
What’s included In the purchase?
This product includes 4 sessions which was recorded-live made available for on-demand watching.
Recording will be made available via WLWNet (might network) course with unlimited lifetime access. Videos will be for streaming only and cannot be downloaded.
What should I do if my payment fails?
PayHere is the secure local payment gateway we use. Some credit card issuers may require to get authorized by calling the issuing bank before processing foreign payments. Also the card might need to be 3DS activated (one time PIN sent to your phone) in some countries. Both these reasons can be rectified by calling your bank. It’s out of the merchants control. Once you have called the bank to get it authorized you can try processing the payment again.
Note: CapitalOne Cards are not supported. PayPal might be available at certain times.
